Tempest Data Stream Manager

The WML Tempest DSM print appliance is a unique, turn-key, multi-port print data stream manipulation gateway and output management appliance that acts like a print server and network bridge.

It is possible to modify and add logical functions such as search and replace, triggers, variables and re-print-on-the-fly to produce user defined output on a per queue/printer basis. Forms, macros and fonts can be stored within the device and manipulated on individual pages, the output being distributed as a whole or in part to any printer on the network or connected to the DSM's local usb ports. An easy web interface is included to assist with command generation. To implement  more complex functions the user has access to the full command set via an editable on-board ini file.

DSM includes support for PCL5, PostScript, Kyocera PreScribe, Epson FS100 and IBM Proprinter emulations which will allow the user to print on laser or dot matrix devices.

The Tempest DSM includes support for industry standard 1D and 2D bar codes and now supports SAP UNICODE font conversion to PCL, which makes the device an ideal seamless, printer independent solution within a SAP environment.

Existing print applications or .NET runtime V1.1 programs of up to 1Gb in size, can be embedded so redevelopment of existing applications is not required and can be implemented very quickly.

The WML Tempest connects to a 10baseT/100baseTX network and can support up to 4 printers connected to its on-board USB 1.1 ports. Up to 50 network attached printers can be licenced to be served with print applications such as barcodes, data parsing and font distribution. Now available with optional 802.11a/g Wireless to act as a wireless printer bridge.
