Overview

A Leading UK University wants to configure a Remote access Solution to two of it’s HPC Servers. One optimised for large data analysis, processing and simulation. The other providing interactive Linux Desktops for all Users and Staff to use for teaching, study or smaller research purposes.

Challenge

With over 10,000+ students and staff and over 600 Researchers needing access to the Clusters, The University required a remote access solution for their users to connect to while maintaing High performance and stability to all desktop sessions. 3D Graphics intense CUDA simulations would take place, Meaning a Latency free robust solution was paramount.

Results

NoMachine’s Enterprise Terminal Server provided the best solution to allow unlimited virtual desktop connections. Any user can centrally Login to either HPC and their desktop session is then automatically started with the Enterprise Terminal Server nodes providing the load balancing.
